The 2026 Junior Olympics will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026
at Royal High School
Rain Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026
Junior Olympics is a fun and exciting event for SVUSD students. It is a day of competition, sportsmanship, and community spirit. Every year over 1,000-plus student athletes participate in this citywide event. Students showcase their athletic skills and sportsmanship in a variety of challenging, inspiring track and field events.
For many students, the Junior Olympics provides their first exposure to competitive sports like track and field and volleyball. The events offer a chance for these athletes to test their skills against their peers. For many former Junior Olympics athletes, these events served as a stepping stone for SVUSD middle school and high school sports team participation.
VOLUNTEER!
The Junior Olympics is 100% volunteer run outside of the professional timing services hired. That means we need your help! Students 6th grade and older are invited to volunteer for hours! Parents and community members are encouraged to volunteer.
This year, we are using CheddarUp to help with Volunteer Signup for all middle/high school volunteers as well as community volunteers.
Student volunteers are strongly encouraged to wear their school spirit wear—whether it’s Athletics, Leadership, or anything featuring their school logo/name. This helps delineate the volunteers from the student athletes.
Through Cheddar Up, each volunteer (student or adult) will need to complete the following:
1. Add a "Check-In" to their cart.
2. Add a "Check-Out" to their cart.
3. Add the spot they wish to sign up for.
4. Complete ALL required SVUSD & PTA forms.
Cheddar Up will generate two separate QR codes to be used for checking in and out of your volunteer position. This will allow us to verify hours of service, as well as identify where you are stationed. It is important that you download the QR codes to your phone (or print them if your student does not have a phone) and be able to show them at the event. *Council reserves the right to adjust volunteer assignments as needed to ensure all events have coverage. Some events require high school or adult volunteers only.
