Training & LINKS

Below you will find many resources to help run your PTA/PTSA unit!

SVUSD VOLUNTEER FORM

All volunteers must complete SVUSD's form prior to entering a school's campus to volunteer in any capacity. This applies to classrooms helpers, event volunteers, and PTA activities. Completed forms should be turned in at the individual school's office, where they will make a copy of your driver's license.

CAPTA ONLINE TOOLKIT

The California State PTA Toolkit provides guidance, instruction, and ideas to support a successful PTA term. This valuable tool includes access to downloadable and printable resources, as well as training, job descriptions, and much more. Please utilize these tools to run your PTA units!

INSURANCE

Unit insurance is provided through CAPTA, and units must abide by the policies to ensure they are covered. AIM Insurance requires all units to make a good faith effort in gathering signed participant waivers for every person on campus. If you have any questions, please contact Council!

MEMBERSHIP RESOURCES

Promoting Membership and people joining your unit is important! National PTA has resources available to help you put together flyers, social media posts, and more. Please contact our Council Membership VP with any questions!

PTA Thrive Learning Community

Thrive empowers all volunteers to gain new knowledge and skills via free, short, informative lessons that help you keep local and state PTAs operating at peak levels.

Ed100: How the CA Education System Works

Ed100 is a free, self-paced online course that prepares you to make a difference in your school or school district. California's education system is complex and changing fast. Whether you are a parent, a teacher, or a community member, Ed100 helps you learn what you need to know to be informed, credible and ready for action. Each lesson takes about 5 minutes, in English or in Spanish.

Each Ed100 lesson includes a quiz to help you learn. Each quiz you pass earns a ticket in the Ed100 drawing for money for your school. There’s a catch: your school needs at least two Ed100 participants to win. Why? To encourage teamwork! School improvement takes a team effort.
